Longtime New Jersey resident Harvey Bell is a passionate fan of the iconic New York singer Frank Sinatra. Like Sinatra, Harvey Bell is a member of the Friar’s Club. In addition to its comedy shows, the Friars Club also engages in philanthropic endeavors. The Club offers scholarships, recognizes military veterans, and supports local children and seniors through its Sunshine Committee.
Sunshine Committee volunteers bring joy and laughter to the most vulnerable New York City residents, seniors in nursing homes and children receiving treatment at children’s hospitals and living in group homes. In addition to hosting lively performances at community centers across the city, the Sunshine Committee also raises money to improve their recipients' daily lives.
